Wildcat NH Summer Fun

Wildcat NH Summer Fun

is on its way as..Alas, Our Ski Season At Wildcat Mountain Must Come To A Close

DespiteWildcats desire to open one more weekend for skiing and riding in May, the weather this week took its toll on the snowpack andteh mountain will not be reopening. There has been too much snow lost to offer a safe and skiable product we would be proud of. Wildcat thanks all for making it a special season at the mountain that spanned 156 days starting in late November and ending the weekend of Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 as the last and only ski area in New Hampshire operating lift-serviced skiing and riding. Wildcat was even treated to a few fresh inches of snow last weekend…just to remind us what we have to look forward to next year (sigh).

Wilcat NH Summer Fun  summer season will start up in just a few weeks on Memorial Day Weekend so get ready to enjoy soaring on the ZipRider, riding New Hampshire’s Highest Scenic Gondola, playing a round of Disc Golf, or enjoying some of the special summer events they’ve got lined up, including the inaugural WMAEF Wildcat Mountain Trail Race. To enjoy Wildcat Summer stay at the Bartlett Inn and enjoy discounted activity passes to both Wildcat and Attitash along with a great place to stay and a yummy breakfast to start your day call 603 374 2353 to stay at the Bartlett Inn and Play at Wildcat

WildCat NH Spring Skiing

WildCat NH Spring Skiing.  Is this the last day or will Wildcat make it to the first weekend in May? Read Wildcat’s latest post.  3 inches of new powder!!  Stay at the Bartlett Inn 603 374 2353!!

Good morning skiers and riders, anyone interested in a little powder?! Although the calendar reads April 27, we’re looking a bit like winter out there. Snow fell at the summit during the day yesterday and the rain/snow line dropped overnight with a light dusting at the base. Patrol reported at least 3 inches of powder at the summit when they finished up their day yesterday. We are scheduled to open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will spin two lifts including the high-speed Wildcat Express Quad and Tomcat Triple, weather/conditions permitting. We will not be operating the Snowcat Triple chair for novices; conditions and terrain available this weekend should be considered intermediate/expert terrain only. We’ll start the day with 22 open trails with 19 seeing grooming on 136 acres of terrain. Trail conditions today will be new snow on top of variable surfaces becoming spring-like later in the day. Groomers have done a great job patching up the mountain with one route off the summit via Upper Catapult and numerous options from there and off the Tomcat Triple chair. Black Cat, Tomcat Schuss and Copy Cat are all ungroomed for your bump skiing pleasure. Caution is recommended as increasing areas of thin cover, ice, rock, grass, and other visible or hidden hazards do exist. It’s spring skiing so be prepared for anything you may encounter. Today’s forecast calls for cloudy skies with light winds and temps topping out around 50 degrees. We’re in the fog this morning but this should lift out during the early part of the day. Our season began 156 days ago and what a winter it has been. If you show up early enough, you’ll be treated to winter-like conditions to start the day. You may want to get out here anyway as this could be the final day of our epic season. We’ll do what we can to get the first weekend in May but if that isn’t in the cards then you better ski it like there’s no tomorrow, today. The ‘Cat lives on!
