Dry River Bridge Crawford Notch NH closed

Dry River Trail Crawford Notch NH is a fantastic hike for all.  The first couple of miles to the bridge have little elevation gain.  It is a fun walk along the edge of the Saco River.  This April there was still a lot of snow on the trails…in the sections with no sun.  There are also many small water flows across the trial in the Spring time.  They are small waterfalls and streams that can easily be crossed stepping on the rocks.  Views of the river and the ledges are just beautiful on this hike.  We highly recommend this one for anyone!  When we arrived at the bridge there were notices that the area was still hazardous and closed across the bridge so we did not proceed.  This has been the situation since hurricane Irene swept through almost 2 years ago..the Saco  River rose 22 feet and birdges were compromised or washed away, giant log jams blocked trails and some trails were completely washed away.  We will try this trail again later in the season to see the conditions. The Dry River Trail starts just a few miles West of the Bartlett Inn on US Rte 302 in Crawford Notch.  Enjoy a yummy bed and breakfast at the Bartlett Inn and innkeepers will help with trails advice for the day!  Call 1800 292 2353.

3-4:30pm  Fashion Drawing With Rebecca Klementovich All Ages! This workshop is for those who want to learn about fashion drawing! We will use tracings to create figures and then add our own style and detail.

11am- 12:30 pm: Accordian Bookmaking with Marnie Cobbs All Ages! Make an accordion book to be used as a journal or sketch book, with pages sewn in for writing or drawing.

1-2:30pm- Mosaic Tiles with Lori Badger All Ages! Create your own mosaic tile using broken ceramics, stones, shells or other objects. Bring old keys, coins, toy pieces or other objects to personalize your creation.

6-7:30pm  Teen Open Studio with Melanie Levitt TEENS AGES 13 AND UP! An open studio for teens to come to the studio to draw a still life. Instruction in line, shading and composition.

NH Pothole Waterfalls

New Hampshire Waterfalls are abundant in and near the Bartlett Inn in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.  This week we took a family walk to Pot Hole

Waterfalls in Bartlett NH.  We parked at the gate on Bear Notch Road and followed the Snowmobile trails on the left through the woods on trails 42/43.  It is about a mile to the New Hampshire Waterfalls.  Pot Hole Falls are upon a hill and can be easily missed.  The falls were running very full this week and the water drops from one section into another where the water has created pot holes in the rock over the years.  The water is crystal clear and these pictures describe its beauty better than these words.  Stay at the Bartlett Inn and innkeepers will give hiking advice to New Hampshire Waterfalls while you start your day with the yummy full hot breakfast.
