The Mt. Washington Cog Railway Lodging
The Mt. Washington Cog Railway is making its fifth biodiesel locomotive part of its regular fleet this season, while keeping one old-fashioned steam engine on the schedule for early morning runs. The environmentally friendly, mountain-climbing biodiesels are built right at the base of the Cog Railway. The Bartlett Inn is located just 16 miles due east on Us Rte 302 from the Cog Railway and is the best Cog Railway Lodging deal including breakfast. Stay at the Bartlett Inn this spring summer and fall and enjoy a yummy hot breakfast cooked to order and an outdoor pool too. The Bartlett Inn recommends booking your Cog Railway Tickets close to your departure so that you can check which day of your visit is the most optimum for views with the weather in consideration. Innkeeper Nick checks te weather reports daily and then makes activity recommendations for guests at breakfast. Breakfast is served 8AM -9AM during May, June and Sept. and from 730-930 in July and August.
Depending on your dates and the Cog schedule if you book the 1st train then you will not quite have enough time for breakfast so we recommend the 9 or 10 AM if you are going in the morning. The Cog trains operate daily from April through November and generally depart every half hour. Hours vary so check the Cog Railway schedule http://thecog.com/schedule_rates.php For The Mt.
