Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds White Mountains NH
Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds White Mountains NH are abundant at the Bartlett Inn Bed and Breakfast and Cottages near North Conway New Hampshire! Who would think that these little birds would enjoy the White Mountains of New Hampshire : These tiny birds run at a high temperature eating very frequently of nectar and sugar water! This summer the Bartlett Inn guests have enjoyed watching the humming birds at the dining room window feeders all through breakfast. The trick to attracting the birds is to use the correct ratio of water and sugar. 1 part sugar to 3 parts water..no red food dye required. It is such entertainment watching the various dances of the hummingbirds. They are quite aggressive and territorial toward each other….especially when it comes to food. If one bird is at the feeder he will ward off another bird by fanning his tail out as large as possible suspendid in mid air. We have also seen a mating dance where the male flys in perfect arcs over and over – almost looks like he is attached to a string going too and fro. Come visit us at the Bartlett Inn and enjoy Ruby-Throated Humming bird watching from Mid May to end October. 1 800 292 2353. Fun for New England Bird Watchers, British Twitchers and anyone who likes a good nature show!
