WildCat NH Spring Skiing. Is this the last day or will Wildcat make it to the first weekend in May? Read Wildcat’s latest post. 3 inches of new powder!! Stay at the Bartlett Inn 603 374 2353!!
Good morning skiers and riders, anyone interested in a little powder?! Although the calendar reads April 27, we’re looking a bit like winter out there. Snow fell at the summit during the day yesterday and the rain/snow line dropped overnight with a light dusting at the base. Patrol reported at least 3 inches of powder at the summit when they finished up their day yesterday. We are scheduled to open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will spin two lifts including the high-speed Wildcat Express Quad and Tomcat Triple, weather/conditions permitting. We will not be operating the Snowcat Triple chair for novices; conditions and terrain available this weekend should be considered intermediate/expert terrain only. We’ll start the day with 22 open trails with 19 seeing grooming on 136 acres of terrain. Trail conditions today will be new snow on top of variable surfaces becoming spring-like later in the day. Groomers have done a great job patching up the mountain with one route off the summit via Upper Catapult and numerous options from there and off the Tomcat Triple chair. Black Cat, Tomcat Schuss and Copy Cat are all ungroomed for your bump skiing pleasure. Caution is recommended as increasing areas of thin cover, ice, rock, grass, and other visible or hidden hazards do exist. It’s spring skiing so be prepared for anything you may encounter. Today’s forecast calls for cloudy skies with light winds and temps topping out around 50 degrees. We’re in the fog this morning but this should lift out during the early part of the day. Our season began 156 days ago and what a winter it has been. If you show up early enough, you’ll be treated to winter-like conditions to start the day. You may want to get out here anyway as this could be the final day of our epic season. We’ll do what we can to get the first weekend in May but if that isn’t in the cards then you better ski it like there’s no tomorrow, today.
